Just picked up my truck from trans Chicago freight liner after getting my AC fixed and notice that my 120 outlet which work perfectly for the last 3 years was no longer operating. OK no big deal I'll use the other. Except the other doesn't work either so now I think I have a badd hub so I grab my 1000 W inverter and I plug it in to the 2nd outlet. The inverter turns on and works for about 60 seconds at then turns off now both front outlets are dead. OK something's amiss so I plug my inverter into my bunk outlet of which I have 3. Once again this time it works for about 5 minutes and goes dead. Something is going on here at I don't think it's just fuses any thoughts
Strange 12v outlets issue

It sounds like your inverter is pulling too much amperage. Just because it comes on and runs doesnt mean it's not drawing excessive current. Were you running anything with the inverter or just plugged in? Have you identified which fuses are blowing and can you duplicate it?
Try plugging in a different device to check operation. I have seen those cheap 12v to USB charge adapters short out all the time. It is more likely a device over a wiring issue with the truck, especially if your blowing different fuses. Otherwise pull the outlet and check for melting or shorted connections would be the first place I would look. -
First place I would look is the heavy duty wiring to the Inverter itself straight back at the batteries. If present they could have disconnected.
Otherwise Im inclined to follow Goodysnap, fuses gone everywhere in the stack with god knows what else beyond them in the tree. -
OP is your truck Cascadia ?
you did not see top cover of power outlet says 12V 10A ? W(watt) = A(ampere) x V(volt)
Don't overload outlets. -
A 1000W inverter is too much draw for the normal cig lighter type outlets. Check your battery connections.
