OK back up a second. When you sign on for truck school/truck company and take a physical, do not mention your previous heart problems. There, problem solved ! Just saved you $$$. Now, if the Doc notices something with your heart beats, that could be a different situation. If you're in pretty good health and have been, I'd keep quiet about it.

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing, good grief. Since joining this forum and following along, I have never met a group of folks with more burdensome regulations and ridiculous bs to put up with. I figure the qualifications to fly the space shuttle would get you a job as a Class B delivery van... maybe.

Wait ... did they crack your chest?

If they cracked your chest, it's going to be kinda hard to hide the scar.

So glad I'm not going through this BS today, after being in this industry for a lengthy time, I'm glad my career is winding down, doubt I'd do it today with all the crap that comes with just trying to obtain a CDL

No... They shove them up the femoral artery in your leg. I figure they got someway of knowing where it's at. I've never had an issue with it in the least way. According to the doc, he prevented a future heart problem. I'm kind of light hearted about it now, but it could have been serious if left unchecked. I'd been having problems with my eyes and went to see an optometrist. He starts examining my eyes and asked his assistant to bring in a blood pressure cuff. My BP was like 175 on the high end, and he said there was bleeding in my eyes. Was sent straight to the local hospital and they sent me straight up to Baptist where the cardiologist took over. They got the blood pressure stabilized and the next day I got the stents. I take a light dose of metoprolol now for BP and have lost about 45 lbs since then. I could probably drop the BP meds but don't want to take a chance.

I've found out the blood pressure thing can really hurt a fellow, it does more than damage your heart, liver, kidneys, eyes... just about every organ is affected in some manner because of it. Like an idiot, I had known for years that it was high, but was still young enough to feel like I was bullet proof. Now days, I've given up smoking, drinking, chasing pretty girls, bragging about my sportin' abilities. I've led a sinful life, now I'm having to atone ######...!

OK ... I just didn't remember a knife. It's been almost 21 years now. No stint, they hadn't been invented yet. Just one artery, 90% blocked. Doc did an angioplasty.
