Yes, 2 years old and still hanging....most of my stress now comes from dealing with brokers.
The paper work turned out to be nothing. I was doing 98% of it anyway leased to a carrier. Just email the bills to the broker and not your carrier and that's it.

    Iron-Man and whoopNride Thank this.

If you dont have anybody to keep up with billing you are much better to FACTOR, try Oak Hill out of Jersey, they are very cheap and on time every time. Its only 2.5% now for me, should be close to start out for anybody really. I dont need the money the next day but its so much easier to send a bill and invoice to the same person everytime knowing your not gonna have to babysit your invoices for up to 90 days. My wife handles my paperwork but I still find it easier to Factor. There are a few companies I dont factor because they do quick pay for 1 or 2 percent, sometimes nothing. And like the guy before me said the fuel tax and mileage is simple. Dont get suckered into paying to get that done. Once you catch on its simple. Also I find getting freight from brokers when its close to the pick up time lets you control the cash for that load, not all but does give you leverage. I get better rates from brokers than I would get bidding on some loads straight from the shipper. You have to under bid everybody to get the freight then your stuck with it. I end up with some great rates witing as long as possible to call on a load, some times you lose the load and sometimes it pays off. I just like having control of everything. I can take off when I want, no payments on equipment, I maintain my equipment very well. I also dont waste my time do oil changes and washing my truck by hand, just a waste of time when I can spend a few bucks instead of burning a weekend up getting filthy .There are a few things Ill do, but but if I keep up on everything I have no major problems.

Are companies like this, http://nobrokerfreight.com/ a scam also?
It sure does seem like many hands in the pot before the person actually doing the work get's some of the pay.
I did go to the above website but know nothing about it. Sounds like a good motive but only if it's a legit company/website.

That's a ######## website, nice try to advertise..... If you have your own authority join a good load board, Ooida or internettruckstop and you don't have to give up any money except about 35$ a month, CH Rob has a free board. This other website above is there to make money and not be good samaritans. Dont know anything about and and dont want to .
