Fertilizer is getting ready to hit HARD , 70pct of the crops rotted in the fields last harvest in the upper Midwest , late start last year , rain and flooding then it froze.

Well what does that mean in terms of equipment? Is fertilizer transported in hopper bottoms?
Unfortunately, most of these interesting rural jobs use flat top sleepers, which is way too small for two people to live in. Even most flatbed (which I hated) is done with flat tops. Same goes for tanks and same for hopper bottoms.

That’s one of the biggest advantages of an OTR job in my opinion. You can live relatively anywhere, even a location with nearly no jobs, and still make a good living. It’s one of the “easiest” ways to have a low cost of living and a high income.

I moved from Kansas City to less then an hour outside of Kansas City and one county south. That cut my personal property tax for 350 to 99 bucks!

With the exception of the two oldest trucks left, all of our flatbed trucks at Britton are double bunk condos. And after the next group of new trucks, those will be gone. All of our trucks also have fridges, APU's and power inverters. No need to pull a darn box to be comfy.

That and you'll still probably end up seeing large metro areas more often than your rural stronghold.
