does anybody know if there is a setting within the 655 software to adjust the speaker volume? I accidentally knocked everything back to default a couple weeks ago, and over the weekend I used the radio on a short trip and although I had volume full clock and rf gain full clock, it wasn't as loud as I remember it being. I'm not at home now but will be in a couple hours and will adjust volume up if possible. Hard to find time to fiddle with stuff like this, so I should have left well enough alone LOL

Nope...most likely a dirty connect in volume pot..Buy a can of de oxit and open up the radio....Look for volume pot and "Carefully" disconnect....Cover radio with paper towel and spray connections..Let dry and reconnect....Look up fine tune cb on youtube, how to vid on it..

Oh yeah I actually remember that video now that you mention it. Thanks.
I wasn't thinking along those lines since Ive only had the radio about a year and it has seen very little use

I haven't heard anything on 26.915 and Channel Six is still active when skip rolls through.

I'm running the microphone at position 2 and the radio microphone gain at 1 o'clock position and talkback at the 9 o'clock position and received couple of radio checks on channel 19 and people say it sounded really good and loud. :)

He didn't recommend a microphone for me to use when we spoke over the phone. I am happy with the performance of the radio and Mark's work he did to fix my radio due to the previous owner wanting to play mod god. For the microphone I probably will keep using is either the Astatic 636 or the D104-M6B.
