Yes and if that connection is dirty I wonder if it would make sense to clean the other connectors as well when you have the hood raised

If you are referring to the cable connectors, I wouldn’t think it would be necessary. If I remember correctly, the Stryker radio Mark was working on was just a month old. As new as that radio was, just reseating the cable may have done the same thing. Sounds to me like the connectors that Stryker is using are too flimsy or something like that. The cable connectors must not be able to handle the daily vibrations of the truck.

Here’s a question for someone I just spoke with someone on channel 19 and he claims my audio didn’t sound good at all but he could understand me. I have my rf power all the way up and same with the mic gain like instructed by the gentleman who did the tune up on my radio. The mic I’m using is the astatic 636 microphone.
The gentleman who I spoke with on channel 19 he said I had a whine in the audio. He’s the first person to say this. Don’t know what to check. The guy described that the audio isn’t loud but it is clear. -
Re the whine, I suspect your power source, but I'll let the forum gurus weigh in. I had to filter my power source since I was using one of the worst, ie cigar lighter. It's a cheap fix715 Thanks this.

I think it’s the power source..I have the power cord wires from the radio to the battery. Maybe they are not making good contact on the negative and positive post.

After spending two hours trying to find the issue. The issue went away on its own not sure what caused the issue in the first place but no issues came back or around. I checked the SWR's channel 1 is 1.3 and channel 40 is 1.2 the best I can get for both channels. I asked for a radio check on channel 19 a driver said I sounded good with no issues.
rabbiporkchop and Timin770 Thank this. -
I assume the reason the guy reporting that your audio didn’t sound good, was due to the electrical whining noise. Plus your audio isn’t going to be real loud due to the noise canceling feature of the mic. Some people will poke holes in the rubber membrane inside the mic to make it louder. Unfortunately this defeats the noise canceling feature of the mic. -
Mark posted that cause it was a question asked before and i asked last so he decided to do the vid..Very very easy fix.. -
Yeah its a 5-min fix. Simple as pie
