Mic gain wide open. RF power wide open.
Turn talkback down until squeal goes away.

    715 Thanks this.

Just as a reference point, i cleaned the connector per Mark's video and it worked fine unti now, so the fix lasted about 9 months. I spritzed the connector again last night and Im sure it will be fine. Ill test it today. The only thing I did different was I used contact cleaner rather than the product Mark used. The contact cleaner I have is basically petroleum ether if not 100% petroleum ether

Just wondering, does the connector pull off easily just by pulling on the wires? My experience is that you need to use a jewelers screwdriver and gently pry the connector loose before pulling it off. I don’t understand why these radios have this problem, especially considering how much they cost.

It pulls off really easily. I think Mark uses a pick but I used a small wood stick. Again, it comes off really easily. Years ago there was a product called Tuner Cleaner when televisions had actual mechanical tuning mechanisms. It was basically an entire aerosol can of solvent with a couple drops of mineral oil blended in. I wonder if something like that would last longer. Having said that, if I only have to do it every 9 months it's not the end of the world. The downside is the problem (both times) popped up when I was traveling. Thats hardly the job I want to do in a hotel room or vehicle

What else needs to be said about a Stryker, eh?

Though since I’m running a GALAXY, that key-up or some other SciFi noise would be pretty funny.
