stryker sr-955hp ANTENNA SETUP

I would try retuning that ant..Makeing sure you have lotsa metal under it..We are talkin anout swr and not power or rec sig right??

 

There is somethin i was reading on a 2:1 ratio being equal to a 1:1 but i dont remember what it was..

 

Antenna works fine. My external swr meter shows 1.3:1 at dead key and rises to 1.4:1 at 100% modulation. It also works fine with my uniden and 1x2 amplifer. It's just the 655 and what it shows on the digital meters on the radio that don't match real world readings.

No no no..just sayin ok as in i understand..Still dont understand why swr raises..Never noticed it before on any meter with power change..

 

Modulating a signal and taking the SWR from that is useless.

Just key it up, take it from there.

ALSO I thought I said this before, don't trust the internal meter on the radio, it is there for one reason.

 

I just use my internal as a guide..If in tuning well thats what an amalyzer is for..

 

Yeah my time with my 655 in the last two days really kind of bummed me out. But I still like the way it sounds, and it has a great receiver. Just disappointed in the fact the meters in my radio are so far off.

 

Get ahold of shawn from stryker and see what can be done.
