After leaving the service, I considered doing similar at a McDonald's. Apply, interview, get hired, show up for a day or two, then walk out in the middle of lunch rush. Then I realized my time was more important to me.I just went camping and fishing for 5 days, instead.

This thread is like reading a book with the last page ripped out............. you dont know how it ends.
If it was me (after getting no help from dispatch) i would have been on the cb offering free wood. I am sure someone local would hear about it and come get it. I bet it would be cheaper to pay for the 2000 lbs of lumber that is missing (if the even notice it is missing) and be rolling down the road than paying someone else to come off load it then transport it.
But thats just me and i normaly do the wrong thing. -
This is why there needs to be a follow-up channel....
Then we would all know how they end.
And be able to sleep at night.. LMAO -
I have driven through there many times. I know the OP said he was 2 exits from a truck stop, but he was actually only 2 miles from the Love's truck stop at Bloomsdale. If memory serves correctly, the scale is at MM 158 and the Love's at exit 156.

semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
Well it has been almost 2 weeks now and i have come up with two theories.
1. The OP was told he could not drop the trailer and go to the truck stop so i doubt he is allowed to idle either. After 2 weeks he has drained the truck batteries so low he cant even charge his phone or anything to get online.
2. The OP is tired of all the people that do not read all the posts in this thread but still want to tell him that he is dumb because he did not get a permit for his divisable load when he was at the amish cat scale where he got loaded.
I just thought of another one...... 2 weeks at a scale with nothing to eat but a can of spaghtieo's...... maybe he is too delerious to even type.Lux Prometheus and KF7WTV Thank this. -
