I've never come across a truck wheel I couldn't knock free with a sledge from the backside.

I think the shock from a hit from a sledge would work much better than a puller (i.e. a steady increasing pressure until it breaks loose) unless you are using the puller and sledge together.

I remember a backhoe tire that wouldn't come off. The tire guy showed me a trick - just loosen the the nuts (or bolts in case of tractor) a little then drive the tractor in a figure-8 a couple of times in the yard. That loosens the wheel pretty quick.

If you loosen the lug nut and run them back on hand tight and drive it a 300 yards works for me.

Porta-power across to the other side pushes them off easy if the are stuck good. I have had to do this a few times. Getting too old to swing a sledge all day and work smarter. Plus its way less damaging to the wheels and hitting the rubber just doesnt cut it and just bounces off.
