They should have taught you how to drive on ice? You can't be serious.

Powder Joints hit the 1st time...24 seconds is a MINIMUM.....common sense should take over here and a little personal responsibly and desecration.

Good one Joe.....That's why I have the attitude I have about drugs and DUI's.....don't come on here and ask how to get a trucking job after you have committed 2 of the worst acts that you could while driving.....But lots of folks think I'm harsh.....I don't think I'm harsh enough....

What do you mean?I don't follow the 24 second rule, never have.I stay back as I feel most comfortable with.Depending on the road, the conditions, the area ect.It could be 3 semi lengths,1 semi,or even 5 car lengths behind. It really depends on the situation you're in that determines how far behind a vehicle you should be.It also depends on your speed. You're on ice and/or snow covered roads you go slow not worry about pissing the traffic off and stay far back incase you do slide or in this case the vehicle ahead all of a sudded stops.

patty , you misunderstood. I meant the OP's accident was caused by his failure to allow enough time/speed/or distance. That 24 second rule is just a bare minmum. Driving in bad weather experienced or not requires folks to use abit of good old fashioned " common sense" The OP was looking for us to give him a pass for not doing that simple thing. I wasn't dis agreeing with your post.

    Where did the op go?

I get a kick out of the people that start these whiney posts and don't get the hand holding they want so they run away.

Actually, the OP has been in and out. Don't know if he is still reading this thread or not, but I've seen him on the forum earlier today. Could it be that he is actually keeping silent and trying to learn something? That would be good.

Well, now that he has some experience on how close too close is, wouldn't that make him a better driver?

    Keep looking around driver.
