Yea that was really vague. Just anything of the top of your head as to what I should stay away from and what I should work towards once I'm done with the 320hr training?

just find a carrier that meets as many of your needs as possible, then stay there for at least a year, dont even consider changeing companies or getting a local job. Just focus on what you need to do.

Ok guys, I passed my test yesterday and received the waiver to get my license, Question is, do I need to get the physical done before I show up at the DMV?

No that is not needed. When a trucking co hires you, that will be needed.

I would say the DOT Physical question will depend a lot on your state. Several states are now downgrading your CDL if they don't have a current physical on file. There have been several threads on this. I just renewed my Class A in Missouri and if I couldn't answer yes to a current DOT physical, they would not renew it. This is the first time for that question.

In FL, you can't get a CDL without a physical. They ask for your medical card at the DMV. Is key power helping you with finding a job? They should be!!! You should have spoken to some recruiters while you were there, and should already have a job lined up. If not, go (not call) ask them why. Good luck!

Well, I went to DMV yesterday and got my license. It was $75 for the license, $91 for the HAZMAT Background Check and $21 for the 3 Endorsements. They didn't ask for the physical so I guess I can do without that for now. I should be starting at McFatter Technical in Davie, Florida next month on their 320hr program for 14 weeks part time evening classes. I put in an application for Southeast Freight Lines as a Driver Trainee last week, but I'm not expecting to get a call. Anyone think I should put an application anywhere else or wait till I'm finished with the 320hr class?
