Any driver travelling with an open container anywhere in the vehicle, other than a locked compartment is guilty of a non-criminal moving violation and will be subject to a fine. This law applies to those drivers too who are not in physical control of the container. Open container laws are not only applicable to the drivers, but they are also applicable to passengers. If a passenger is found in possession of an open container of alcohol, he or she is also guilty of non-moving violation, which is a crime punishable by a fine.

Here's where i'm going with this, why did'nt you do your job search before attending school rather then wait till you're over half way thru to look for a job?Surely you had to have been aware finding a trucking job with a yr old open container conviction would'nt be that easy to find.So now chances are you're going to have an outstanding school loan to pay off and no trucking job.You say thats the only conviction in 3 yrs, thats nothing to brag about. One conviction is one too many.

So you talked to a couple of recruiters, you didn't say if they won't hire you but I'm guessing that's the case. There are a lot of companies out there. Keep puting in apps. and calling companies. You should have recruiters come to your school. Talk to them and explain what the ticket is for. Maybe you'll find some that will talk to someone higher up and give you a shot. You did say that's all that's been on your license for the last 3 years, what did you have before that? Also how old are you that also plays a part from what I'm hearing. There's got to be someone who'll hire you. There are posts here about getting a job if you're a felon.

    Good Luck

I'm 22 and that's the only major violation I've ever had no speeding or anything else like that and I applied for Werner today because my job placement assistant said the recruiter told her they are relaxing there restrictions she also told me carolina cargo but I will sit at home and make no money before I work for them because I'm not a felon and I'm not gonna make 10cpm and team ride with felons I've never been in trouble in my life and I'm a good kid who is just hoping someone gives me a chance!!

Does'nt matter, the point is you were convicted and as much as I hate to rain on your parade, you're about to face a long dark road before companies will take a second look at your application.I've been driving trk for awhile and I know how strick the companies are on the hiring process. If the worst of the worst won't accept you then no other company will either.

You sound like a nice enough young man but all this does'nt matter in trucking. All companies see is open container. They don't wanna hear what happened and won't take the time to hear. All they look at is your mvr and dac then it goes to the safety dept.Recruiters won't bend any rules for nobody.
