Have you tried the lumber yards yet? Although it might mean driving a straight truck for a bit, they're often looking for drivers and it could lead to a bigger/better opportunity.

No i havent but that may be something to look into. there are a few lumber yards in the area

That's a good idea lots of that up your way, also have heard from a lot of people that got their A and started with a dump truck job but having their A let them haul equipment once in a while getting them enough to land another job

True... with all of the gas line work happening all over the state, which is predicted to last 3+ more years, that might work out well for ya.

I was told many years ago that the people in Maine are a little different than anywhere else. The example I was given went like this - There's a guy in a balloon flying in from the coast and he comes across this farmer way down on the ground. He yells down to the farmer " Hey where am I?" the farmer yells up to him "You're in a #### balloon you fool". Just to cheer you up.
