He reported it. I wouldn't have reported a little scratch like that on a beater truck.

    Cam Roberts Thanks this.

thought the way you were talking it was something major if you hit a deer on the highway it'd do much more damage than that.

like I said, it looks like he bent the license plate and that's all.

The reason I say this is because of this comment -
This is such a trivial thing, happens all the time and if someone gets fired over it, guess what OP, the company isn't worth your time to bother with.

    Chinatown and Steele123 Thank this.

Got to love the hypocrisy of people. It's ok to damage someone else's truck, but if someone damages their equipment, they get all bent out of shape.

Op damaged (admittedly minor) someone else's property. The only right thing to do is see if the property owner cares. If not no harm, no foul. If so, well it is minor. Make it a learning experience and know what not to do.

I agree but let me put it into another form.

The op is panicking, where they need to relax because if there is damage (and there is), it isn't to the level of backing into someone trying to park a tractor and trailer in a super tight spot at a truck stop and taking out a truck in trying to do so.

The OP bring it to the attention of the place is the right thing to do AND most likely they are not going to make a big deal about it and if they do, it isn't something to worry about losing the job over.

Kyle G. and Steele123 Thank this.

I did the right thing today. Got caught at a receiver that lets employees park around the lot. I got in before they got to work, but it filled up while I was unloading. So I asked someone in shipping to move their car so I could turn around. They couldn't help me. So I made the cut right up beside the cars. Thought I had it made, but the swing of the trailer caught the back of this van and creased it. Minor damage, but I got fired today because of that. More later. 20181002_092055.jpg 20181002_091837.jpg 20181002_091740.jpg
