I hauled gas long enough to know its a whole new can of worms.
The heat,smell,slip seating,loading racks,store traffic,vendors,per load pay,no Thanks!!

 

It is what it is, the lifestyle is fine with me. I knew before I signed up I would living out of my truck, on the road, like a gypsie, averaging about $7 an hour, for the first year. I don't know about Werner, but Schneider is pretty good for a beginner, all things considered. If this was easy and convenient, there would 10 million more people trying to do it.

 

Its HOBO,not gypsie..Gypsie lifestyle is a circus,with elephants,tents,bearded ladies,and what not.
Trucking is a Hobo lifestyle..Lots of shampoo in a bag,wandering parking lots,talking to yourself,
beans in a can,clothes on the end of a stick,riding trains to get to your truck..
Quiting your job as a taxi driver,stuff like that..

 

There are thousands of people trying it out. That is the very reason that the driver compensation is what it is and and the OTR companies will never change. We the drivers have created this monster.

 

Announced today driver turnover still 92%. Probably many drivers gone back to construction work.
