Moments Leading Up to Yellowstone Bison Attack Caught on Camera
The park originally said that the woman “approached within 10 feet of a bison multiple times to take its photo.” In fact, based on the footage below, 10 feet may have been an exaggeration. In the news report below, you can see the woman approaching within arm’s reach of the bison at one point, as her husband took photos:
The only reason I am glad the bison didn't kill her is because it would very likely be put down... although it still might.
I lived in Banff for a while and we had an abundance of wildlife and an abundance of morons doing similar things. WTH thinks it's a good idea to try and pet bison, elk, deer, etc.
Stupid is as stupid does.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I have taken a bison snap... or 20... myself. In the first one I'm about 80-ish feet away and on the far side of my pickup with the door open. The second one: well, a strict "no picking up hitchhikers" rule saved me.
InTooDeep, Troy_, bryan21384 and 4 others Thank this. -
Can't remember but i think it was the late 80's they had the big fire. Come through the west side and the road was covered with anything you wanted to take a picture of.
