Not trying to deny that. I am here attemting to deal with the consequnces....

Not trying to deny that either. It is a tough lesson but one I had coming. Rather than belaboring the obvious, as you and other have done, how about some forward looking advice?

I would say deal with the underlying problem before you seek employment in the transportation field.

Run your DAC report first and see what's there. If it's there.... well look for a small company that doesn't use DAC. If it's not, then tread lightly and good luck.
Your biggest issue will be explaining why you had a job for a week and were let go.

Yeah, big mistake not knowing how long THC would stay in your system. You should have waited a couple of months after you quit smoking before going back to driving.

There is plenty of reading/research you can do right here about how long you are sidelined, And options. But the quick answer is: You are S.O.L. But to be sure pull your DAC. you can get a free copy every year I think it is.

You will probably get plenty of people chiming in saying "good riddens, no potheads allowed" They think if you smoke at all you are a burned out stoner. --It would be like labeling everyone who drinks as an alcoholic bum.

But I take your word for it that you had intended to never smoke again. I know plenty of people that have quit smoking to go drive. But they knew to wait.

It's funny, I bet a lot of people who will chastise you for smoking had to put down their drink to type out the comment...

It isn't necessarily more problematic then someone who has a couple of beers after work. The problem is the test is TOO invasive. Ideally it would detect if you were presently under the influence.

What would REALLY be problematic is if alcohol testing was that invasive. If you couldn't tell if someone had a drink 30 minutes ago, or 30 days ago it would sideline most of the drivers I know.

You guys are missing the biggest problem here.

There is a form that has to be completed and signed by the applicant stating whether ever tested possitive for drugs.

He also is required to list all jobs. This includes the time as unemployed and all.

He is basically screwed in the trucking industry.

    Eaton18 and tirednaz Thank this.
