It is if it says 5 axles on your scale ticket. I think they might give you two chances over 88 and then a ticket.

when we load in the elevators, we'd load commonly to 87500 to 87800. That's about it.

I was hauling straight from the field once and the cart operator had an oops. Ended up 94k. It went to a small elevator with hand written tickets.

Im not sure but that one might have got filed at the bottom of the stack.:biggrin_2559:

Here's a link to a Truck Weight Education class that is put on for free by some retired DOT officers. Lots of stuff to learn and get a whole new understanding of axle weight and restrictions.

    http://www.mnltap.umn.edu/training/topic/customized/truck-weight/

In oklahoma and kansas when we're harvesting there's always a learning curve for the new guy on the cart. Tend to get a little heavy by accident sometimes!

A friend of mine took that course a few weeks ago. He said it was really good and very eye opening.

He talked like it was as much to educate you as it was to protect you. Lots of officers out there that don't completely understand the rules and give tickets that aren't justified.

How many axles though? I ran with 1/2 tanks out of KS today 89700 on 6 axles. 97000 is legal on 7 axles. Well might have been 5 got to catoosa again tonight and the #### tag was coming up every time I stopped. Ain't figured it out yet wouldn't come down till I started moving out of KS either. Just gonna drop the sob manually when I leave tomorrow and call it good.
