So how could Pepper possibly know it's.not breaking any company rules? He did state:

" Your not breaking any law or company rules unless you pantywaists are going to let a company tell you what you can do on your day off"

Is he just "making up scenarios"?

Is it legal for truck driver who is federally regulated to smoke marijuana?are you a employee before you go to orientation?there is no policy on off duty time as long as there legal activities.if you have a policy that says you can't drink beer on your off time show it.your saying there is I can't show what isn't there.

I don't have that policy, never said I did... You said he does have a policy but you don't know do you? You are just making up scenarios... Unless you have worked for every single truckimg company in this country, you can not make that blanket statement because some do.

I worked for one in the past, and yes, they would send people home from orientation for drinking in their off duty time because it was as against their company policy. They also had a policy of no drinking on the road, even off duty... Yes, those companies exist.

It's legal to walk around in Flip Flops, but they also had a policy of wearing appropriate footwear around the equipment, even if you are off duty.

But hey, you know more than me so go ahead, it's legal to fire up a fat one, who cares about rules and regulations, as long as you are not "sissy down"

    I appreciate you.

But remember prior to 1994, stow your bottles or six pack of beer under the seat and pace yourself on bad roads to take away the pain and enjoy life a little bit on trucks without airride. I did. I guess I drove drunk many times by today's strict standards. I got used to it it was after all trucking. Then.

Today I have a hard attitude towards drinking. Part of that comes from my old high school friends who drank like 50 dollars worth a Jack every night in Silver Spring because there is not much else to get into then. I knew I would have to pick up a trailer and go to Youngstown by noon the next day and here I am with Jacks carefully counting the hours to metabolize the alcohol. You had to in Prince Georges County and Howard as well becase the police traveled in wolf packs and any error at all in your driving meant you had drinks or drugs in your system, they are more than happy to pull you over and talk to you. Maybe arrest you too. Life is cheap to them busted a felony is everything to them.

I'm going to be straight up on this one. I went to Knight Refrigerated orientation in Phoenix, about 3 years ago. The hotel room cleaner found a bottle of Smirnoff ICE (not vodka) in my room along with a King Cobra 40 oz , or something. The shuttle van driver made some comment to me about, "Is that what you do, you just sit in your room and drink all day?" Two days later, they decline my application and send me back home on the Greyhound 14 hours across the terrible desert. They wouldn't give me a reason but I put all the pieces together, and the only reason they'd have denied my application is the hotel corresponds directly with HR at Knight Refrigerated.

So it's best to keep those drinks at the bar.

Also, many thanks to Knight Refrigerated for not hiring me into their third-rate, horrible company. I got a local job right after that, first one out of truck school.

And no, I don't just sit in hotel rooms drinking all day. But when your financial prospects are as bleak as what Knight Refrigerated offers, you just might have to reduce yourself to drinking something as horrible as Smirnoff Ice, and King Cobra.
