The no drinking rule applies for orientation. After the driver is on the road there's no problem having a beer during a layover.

It all boils down to common sense and the ability to wait until after the fact.hell who don't occasionally go in to a restaurant that serves alcohol and have a few drinks after his or her shift.i know I do, but not during an orientation for a job.
