A unlaiden single vehicle at or above 26k requires a cdl. A combination with a trailer with the capacity of 10k. Loaded or not require a cdl. But not operating for hire, your not required to have a operating authority. Period. You need a cdl for the truck you are displaying.
I do not need a cdl and can drive in any state. For your reading pleasure... Exemptions to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) | FMCSA I’m not ag except so that’s not the angle here.
I’ve driven this rig through a lot states and am legal. I don’t need a lawyer Again, you have to stop thinking I am doing anything commercially. I don’t haul any freight what so ever. This is a converted trailer into living quarters...consider it a tiny home. I have been stopped at plenty weigh scales in quite a few different states. I am legal.
As previously explained in FMCSA’s regulatory guidance for § 383.3, question 6, drivers of vehicles used strictly for non-business purposes do not need a CDL unless the state of licensure requires it.
Yep...and in my case I am licensed in Ohio and it is not required. For my particular situation whatever state I am in my home states requirements are what applies.
