One time, left truck stop but couldn't remember which direction to go and took a little road thinking it would take me to hwy and instead that took me to a narrow dirt road which ended in the middle of a corn field with no way to turn around :biggrin_25513: Had to back truck all the way to major road :biggrin_25524: Besides being nervous, I felt pretty embarrassed for being seen in that stupid situation by other passing trucks.....

Looks like many here have locked themselves outside truck at least once.... I did twice.
First time I was at one of the company's terminal and all I had to do was call locksmith paid by company.
But second time I was bobtailing (without company's permission) to do my shopping and going to the beach in California during 34 hrs reset on a Sunday....
So, I parked outside a shop and had only my wallet with documents. So, since I am a AAA member (for my private vehicle), I used shop's phone and called them.
AAA guy arrived and when he saw the big truck :biggrin_2554: He said that would be the first time he would try to open a big truck door.
But thank God he did it!!! :toothy8::smt038
.... And from that time on, I carry the key around my neck from the time I wake up till I go to bed. :yes2557:

We're not going to say how many times I locked out, but if you have vice grips or channel locks and a wing glass.... I used to own alot of those lol..

Well....although I have just a slight idea on how to use those to open a door... that may be helpful to open someone else's door but what if you lock yourself outside? Do you carry those things outside your truck? Some people "hide" the key inside engine compartment.... I am not sure that's a good idea though...

The FIRST thing I do everytime I get a new truck, even (long-term) rentals, is get a couple spare keys cut and put one under the hood.

Went to back up a few feet, forgot to release the parking brake and couldn't understand why the truck wasn't moving...of course hubby came up to the window and pointed it out and then proceeded with the lecture...
