I think he’s referring to a video where a small vehicle is being pushed sideways from the truck front bumper. I know. The truck driver was probably at fault for not watching his mirrors while making a lane change and swiping the small vehicle.

No, he told me I couldn’t see anything at 2 o’clock. I could see right next to my truck just fine. If it was in front of me enough that I couldn’t see it in the peep window then it was far enough ahead I could see it out the front. Somehow I managed to drive that truck for 4 years on crowded highways and in and out of some pretty tight ranches loading cattle without banging into stuff.

That's 3 o'clock. 2 o'clock you have that big dash piece sticking up to eye level. There's no sight line there.

I wonder what year hood mirrors got introduced into trucking. It seems like old trucks don’t have them, and the hoods are longer and higher than modern trucks.
-
Ok. I’m glad you know exactly where I needed to look. As I said, if I couldn’t see it in the peep window then it was far enough out front I could see it over my hood. If I couldn’t see it out of the peep window then it also meant I was far enough past I could see it in my mirror. You need to take into account that when your seat is low it also changes the field of view out of that little window, when you have your seat all jacked up you can see only pavement.
I have a larger blind spot in my 579 in that area than I did in my FLD. Now I lift my butt off the seat a little and actually look and see what’s there before I change lanes. -
Long fld were did you get your visor for your fld?
-
It was the factory visor tilted down on custom brackets.
-
O nice man it looks really good. Did you make the brackets
