I've been leased to Sunco for about a month... I've had my best month since I bought my truck a year and 1/2 ago... I run the south east fleet...

Who are you asking?
-
you remember the joke- ?
"The two happiest days of a man's life'the day he bought the boat and the day he sold the boat"
may apply to trucks to
ps: i've been accepted into sunco- waiting on final decision on start date. I'm leased to a small carrier. 5trucks(horrible rate-decision)
Sunco staff have said the average Gross to truck is $1.52- I always found that term(Gross) misleading in this business. It means different things to different people.
I assume the 1.52 is (linhaul rate *.70 +fuel surcharge@100&%)- So by my calcs(i like to use a figure I call Net of Fuel---So if i'm getting 6mpg @ 4$ diesel my fuel cost is 66cpm. So i would say I made 86 cents/mile net of fuel. 1.52-.66= .86
Has that been your experience?Last edited: May 7, 2013
MoGooder Thanks this. -
Average rate in the southeast region is $1.66 per mile for all miles. Most loads coming into Florida are $2.00+ per mile + FSC. Loads going out of Florida are $1.00+ per mile + FSC. What you make depends what region you are on

Are you mainly going from the Carolina's back and forth to Florida?
-
Yes I am mostly, sometimes Georgia, and Virginia.
-
Same here... I've been to bama and Tennessee too.:: was offered a Jackson, MS but turned it down... My truck grossed $1.41 per mile in April... I had one settlement with Landstar the rest with Sunco... That's all odomoter miles...

I see you have to pay for refer fuel(except Trop)......what is the average monthly cost for that.....
(I am currently living in Lakeland and thinking about Sunco)
