Good point, you have to understand rates, lanes, supply and demand in this business...

I had nothing to do today so I went over to see why they said I needed a new fifth wheel. The tractor was sitting outside like you say and it was not touched from Monday. It was not even worked on....my quarter fenders weren't even installed. So he comes out with me to show me the fifth wheel. There was one small gouge about 1 inch from the right side and he's digging his fingernail in it......so he gets the mechanic who said I need a new fifth wheel and out walks a 20 something kid.....I'm like....Are you kidding me? So I say just forget the fifth wheel and concentrate on the EGR cooler.....
I'll get the jaws adjusted somewhere else.....as far as the plate....just could use some grease....
Hey LMB...glad to hear your truck was worked on.....

Do any of you use the Lakeland or Conley shop for work... I'm a little hesitant to... Just wondering if those guys know what they are doing

I think most know what they are doing but getting them to do it is another story.....I put in a write-up (Lakeland) for my fuel filter to be changed last week at 10am.....even talked to Gary about it......my truck was still sitting there at 2:30 PM....so I just got in and left and had it changed at the TA....

I also asked one of the mechanics if they can adjust fifth wheels here.....his response was short and bitter.....I don't know !......fine I'll go and spend my money elsewhere....I don't care if it $55 an hour or not! Other drivers have told me to not get work done at the Sunco garages.....it's ashame...they could make so much business and money off of us if they only had some people skills and cared just a little......

Every time you go thru Lakeland, they are all just sitting in the side room .....I was asked by central late one night (about 4:20 PM) to see what trailers they had in the shop....I almost got into a fight with a mechanic because he didn't want to check and it was his (quote) "end of the day" (unquote)......

As for me...I do nothing with the Sunco garages...all my work is done on the road especially when I have excess time.....just because I don't need their attitude.....

I don't care who read these post......it is what it is.....maybe they can make a change...

    Delixemodel Thanks this.

lol I keep doing what I've been doing... I also don't care if they read what I write here, I sleep fine at night... I use j and m truck and trailer in Ocala for most of my work, they charge $70 an hour and randy the service manager is straight up with me... He's told me more than once, "take this to the dealer it's more than we can handle" I use TA or speedco for all my PM related stuff... I'm going to need shocks, that's why I was asking, I guess I'll take it up to j and m

If you're going to be in the Lakeland terminal for any length of time.....there is a local shop that will pick up your tractor, do the work, and return it....they have decent rates and do good work plus you can do laundry or shower or whatever in the meantime....they are called SOS (Service on site) and about 5 miles away....Let me know and I will PM you some info...
