Any of y'all haul this paper out of Ashland, VA? Pretty nice paying load... I'm understanding we are getting a few of them a day now
-
Hauled 1 of those

Heard a story today while at griffin. They wont sell trailers to contractors. But theres at least one contractor with his own trailer.
That gives me the idea to buy a trlr and run it undrr sunco before fully indendent.
Okay: discuss!
. -
There's a handful of contractors that own a trailer... I heard there used to be a lot of them... I'd be intersted
-
What bump in % would make it worthwile?
-
78-80% it would also depend on the price of the trailer, and where the loads are gonna come from... As you know we do a lot of drop and hooks... If I could get on something semi deticated and break even in a year it makes perfect sense to me... Putting the right tires on a trailer and side skirts could easily give me 1 mpg
-
Any ideas who to talk to about buying one? Because at the very least I want to ask some questions!
-
Im in town and will pose the question. I was thinking closer to 82%. I was looking at my summer spreadsheets. Best month was 15k top line.an extra 8% would not provide enough profit.
At a 12k avg month....the diff between 8-12%is $480. Figure a$1k/mo trlr pmt ---only $440 is left at 12%.Pretty thin. -
I'd be ok with breaking even for a year... The fuel mileage gains I could get modifying my own trailer would make up the diffrence
