To be fair, those older Volvo trucks the headlights have two modes. The normal running mode is "Are the headlights even on?" and highbeam of "When did it turn to noon?"
There are aftermarket kits to give them "normal" lighting., but I've been told they aren't cheap. (I don't care enough to verify that...)

As an owner of a Volvo, I can attest that the OEM low beams eventually become useless as the silvering flakes off the reflectors. But for ####s sake, a new set of lights is $600 and goes another 5 years... $120 a year. If they can't afford that, maybe they shouldn't own a truck.

My vision pre driving career vs post driving career is sad.

    My thoughts.

I keep a lamp on just so I'm able to look at the tv now.

I’ve driven an older Volvo (a 2015 fleet spec model with regular halogen bulbs to be exact) and the headlights (low and high beam) worked for me just fine. Yet I see similar style VNL models (sometimes newer, sometimes older) fitted with light kits like the drivers are going to go four wheeling like Jeeps in the wilderness-DOT be d******!

ONCE (early 2010 decade), I went to a Freightliner Dealer in Little Rock, AR., x 161, I-40 to check on getting my headlights properly adjusted.
Manager stated PER LIGHT: $135.00 hour Labor + $35.00.
    "Thanks, NO Thanks".

The "Good Ol' Days" had long disappeared.

So I just drove away with the Snake and Sniper Lights.
Bright Eyes not offered much better viewing.
    CHEERS!!

Half of our Penske Volvo day cabs have LED instead of the Halogen and the cost at the body shop is double, over $1,200.00.

Now my switcher driver's like the LED headlights on the new TICO switcher's compared to the older Ottawa and Champion unit's we traded.

Sucks, I drive a 2018 Mack, and I’m constantly getting “high beamed”, and load lights flashed at me as I go by!!! and that is done by truckers who should know better… Some of us are not privileged enough to drive trucks with regular headlights anymore…

Sounds like you’re lights are aimed too high. Ever thought of adjusting them?

No, because I’ve seen the same truck come at me several times and the The lights on that truck are just insanely bright…It’s definitely worth a look at but it seems that they are set from the factory that way as far as I can tell…

Maybe that is why other drivers don't dim their high beams when I flash them in my T680. They can't tell! Lol. Yes......2019 KW T680....pathetic headlights.

    Still undecided Thanks this.
