not only this but with twin tires you are always more stable

here super singles are standard for a long time today almost every kind of transport use them

    except :
    -heavy haulage (loading capacity)
    -logging (stability /loading capacity)
    -livestock (stability)
-extra low trailers (since they are low there is still not too many low super single tires)
-truck transport (on trailers made for truck transport ) ( low)
-and trailers pulled by roll off tippers (low and need huge loading capacity)

even fuel transport is today only on super singles

And? I'm getting 8.5 on my Cascadia with a trailer that has XOne XTA Energy's, XOne XDA Energys on the drives and XZA3 Energy steers. Always above 75,000 GVW.

BTW... you're tire salesman took you to the cleaners. XOne Energy tires certainly work for that size tire. He was just trying to get rid of some XDN2's he couldn't sell to anyone else. Old sales trick.

I would also guess that with less rotating mass, it would be easier to stop its inertia than the heavier duals. Picture a Honda Civic jaked up next to your truck also wheels off the ground. If the wheels were spinning freely, the honda tire would be much easier to stop by hand....Extreme example but same idea.

i've had the old X one xda and the new xdn2, my milage went down .7 when we got the new xdn2's (i know new tires the milage goes down) after 200k it was still down .5 from what the X ones xda got.

both x ones xda and xdn2 slip on wet roads when they got down under 8/32
and i/we have over 800k miles driving on them.

now that i have my own truck i will not have STUPED SINGLES on it

Not all wide singles are created equal guys. If you want better fuel mileage, the rolling resistance is critical. IT MUST BE LESS THAN WHAT YOU HAVE ON TO BEGIN WITH! Also, the rolling resistance of a tire that is approaching manditory replacement (2/32 on a drive tire say) is much less than what you started with.

The example of Flood... post no. 87 is a case in point. XDN2's with a rolling resistance of 134 gave him 0.5 mpg less than XOne's spec'd below 90. I haven't seen a difference in traction between duals and wide singles myself. Just the same, I take curves a little slower now just to be safe.

Whats the life difference between the lower rolling resistance tires and the higher ones? Also what the tread depth difference?
