Sounds about right, I will be using an oil bypass system so maybe every other filter change. As far as air,,,amen brother. Not maintaining proper air pressure, at all times, is the #1 reason why tires fail. I drive a company truck now and pull a different trailer all the time but, I still check air pressure, habit forming I am... How does it go; do it 26 times and it becomes a habit.

One of the competitors in my field runs ss on trailers. Localish drivers have more issues with them regarding curbing. I don't encourage curbing or believe it should be a common thing: that being said inner city driving sometimes it happens.
Apparently curbing a ss on a heavily loaded trailer drastically shortens the life expectancy. They run michelins.
otoh I spoke with a gentleman running a long wheelbase tractor and a 53' flat: ss all around. Running beams into jobsites. Swears by widebase tires say he's up almost a full mpg overall

We don't run ss on our flats or trucks but we do on our hoppers. Headed to the shop to swap out some tires and rims on my hopper right now. Sure makes it nice when you don't have to bust them down.

They definitely pull easier then duals and we figure about a 400 pound weight savings.
