Thanks for the heads up. I've spent a lot of time in the Chicago area and over in Joliet.

Seems like there are going to be a lot of those midnight, 3 am, 5 am etc. loading and unloading times.

Biggest problem I have right now is just getting out of Kingsport. Too many driver and only 1 shipper that only loads about 4 a day.

Had a couple of early mornings to start the week. Ran up to Charleston WV and loaded at Dow on Tuesday. 500 miles so its a good days work. Delivered that load to P&G this morning at 6 AM.

They had me planned on a snot load going to the Waste Water Plant in Hartford Ct delivering Thursday. They were loading it this morning so I pulled around and took about a 2 hour nap waiting for the call to go get it and head north.

Dispatch came out to my truck and informed me that they were pulling me off that load so another driver from Paulsboro NJ could get some qualcom work done in the shop and pull that load home. That was fine with me as I was envisioning a weekend in the Northeast. I was offered another snot load going to Ohio or a N Chicago dedicated. I opted for the dedicated run. It loads Friday morning in N Chicago so I will be home for half a day Saturday and all day Sunday. That load delivers Monday.

Makes for a 2000 mile week plus the holiday pay for the 4th. Not too bad for only sleeping in the truck 2 nights.

I haven't been able to get out of KPT yet. I went down to Greer for the orientation and Haz-Mat class. No probs there..actually enjoyed it.

I left my truck at the yard with a list of things that needed to be fixed before I could get out with it. I am not being picky..if it's a DOT or safety issue it needs to be fixed. It's not my Terminal Managers butt in a sling if I get a bunch of tickets.

I got back and they hadn't even touched my truck so I had to sit for two more days while they worked on it. Finally got the truck straightened out and guess what...no loads.

I have worked for this company for 3 weeks and have yet to pull a load for them.

I REALLY hope this isn't an indication of things to come. If it is I might be better off just moving along.I can't just sit around until I am broke. We shall see...:biggrin_25513:

Man Firebird. That sucks. Maybe the holiday weekend slowed it down some. I was just there last week. The driver I picked up the load from had been out 3 weeks. That's the way Puddin runs as well. Hope it picks up for you.

Yeah, I think we have something like 36 drivers (?) at the KPT yard and Eastman is the only shipper there is. They are loading somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 loads a day.

Steve (terminal manager) told me that 90% of the drivers were home for the 4th and I was the last one on the board because of my truck.

Puddin' wouldn't go home if they didn't make him from time to time. He would stay out 6 months at a time I do believe.

I figure it will be next week before I get out. Once I do get out I am going to have to stay out for a while to make some money.

They had me drop my dedicated load on the yard Saturday for as local driver to deliver.

I headed out this morning with a snot load going to Filer Mi. It delivers in a 07:00-15:00 window Tuesday. I already have a tankwash message for Lansing Il so it looks like another visit to Markham. Overall its a good start to the week, 1100 miles by Tuesday evening.

I pulled an out and back load to Brownsville TN today and got another one that picks up tomorrow for a 14;30 delivery Wednsday to the same place.

Brownsville from KPT is around 420 miles each way.

That sounds pretty good for home time. 3 of those would make a good week.

I got empty and managed to miss Markham. They are having me drop this trailer at Dedicated TW in Lansing Il, grab a clean one from there, and spot it at AOC in Valpraiso In. There is a loaded trailer waiting for me there that is going to Huntsville, Al delivering Thursday morning. Moving pretty good.

Yep, it is pretty good for home time. The 14:30(Central time) delivery time is aggravating. Looks like it will be a 2 am(eastern) arrival back at the yard .

But it's all good. I am getting used to pulling liquids and shifting gears again. It didn't really take too long. I've been out of liquid tanks for 4 years and driving an auto for 2.

    Stay safe out there.
