Well, after a very slow week last week I got some decent miles in this week.

It worked out last week anyway. My pickup truck decided to have a major meltdown. It blew a head gasket. So while I had the head at the machine shop I did several things. New clutch, complete exhaust system, head gasket(of course), water pump, plugs, wires, belt, and a few other things.

I left for Quebec last Sunday and got back yesterday(Thursday). 2200 miles round trip. Out and back load. Went pretty well..just gotta brush up on my French! Is that scale open or closed:biggrin_2556:?

    Sort of.

Loaded in Raeford NC Monday morning. Delivered that load in Indianapolis this afternoon. Heading down to Louisville in the morning to drop hook tanks both at the tankwash and Bradentown Ky. Got a load delivering in Mt Airy 8 am Thursday morning. Schedule requires that I run on max 10 hr breaks. 2-3 hour delays on both ends is keeping the miles lower per day.

Part of me hopes this doesn't turn into another 4 day weekend, part of me does.

I am sitting at the Markham Terminal right now. I unloaded in St. Louis this morning then headed over here. I have to go load at Burnham IL in the morning going to Mckees Rock PA for Thursday.

So far so good I guess.

Showed up at the yard to pick up my truck and roll and noticed the "E-Log Equipped" sticker on the side. Yep, I now have the new QC. Not hooked up on e-logs yet but it won't be long now. They could have at least warned me! It took me thirty minutes to figure out how to send a pickup trailer message

Same thing happened to me. It was my first load after Christmas. I figured Santa's evil twin brought it. I kept trying to log in but it wouldn't let me. I assumed it was broken and didn't send any messages until I started getting them once the office staff got back to work.

My week just got busy. They are having me drop this load at the terminal adding around 60 loaded miles to it. I then grab an empty to load in Plaquemine La Friday morning. That load delivers next Tuesday in Brown Summit but I imagine they will have me drop it on the yard Saturday. This will be a very good a week.

Nice, glad to hear it's a good week. I got a load out of Markham that picked up at a Penreco over in Burnham IL. It went to Mckees Rocks over near Pittsburgh. I then spent the night at Neville Island at the tank wash before Karns City told me to get the tank washed there. 5 1/2 hours later I left the tank wash. During that time I got put on a load going to Woodbury GA, which was nice b/c it would get me through the house and give me a chance to go see a doctor about this nasty cold I seem to have come down with but...

The load fell through so I am now sitting at Karns City. I load tomorrow at Penreco heading for St. Louis for Sunday morning at 7:30.

I always call dispatch while I am still unloading to find out where they want me to go next. Be sure and call before 5 when they sprint for the exits.

That sucks to lose 5.5 hours when they could have washed you over night. On the other hand its more pay and it sounds like you would have just been sitting in Karns City anyway. At least they have free hot dogs at Nevil Island if you are brave enough to eat them. :biggrin_2554:

I will get home sometime Saturday. They have me heading to the Pittsburgh area Monday. Going to Ranbar Electric Materials in Manor Pa delivering Tuesday.

I did relieve them of a couple hot dogs but then I relieved myself of them:biggrin_25524:

It's funny, they sent me a load coming out of Ranbar but then it cancelled and they sent me to Karns..it's all good though.

I loaded out of Penreco in Karns this morning heading to St. Louis. It originally delivered on Monday at 7:30 but they decided they wanted it Sunday..no problemo here.

I had to do a little calling around, but I got a load out of Valparaiso IN heading down to Abingdon Va for Tuesday which puts me back to the house Tuesday afternoon.

That drive out of Karns can get a little hairy if you aren't paying attention. This winter ought to be real intersting.

I have never been to Ranbar before. I am delivering there. Load is coming out of Greensboro.

The first time I went into Karns City I was loaded at 45K. It was about my 3rd trip solo. I followed the directions in the SPCR driver manual and dropped down off of I-80. I about #### when I saw that 9% grade. I had an empty QC tanker pass me going down that sucker I was creeping along so slow.

There is a way to avoid that hill by crossing the river on Hwy 58, going into St Petersburg and turning left onto 478. That takes you up to exit 45 on I-80. Its a lot less hilly. I don't advise it in the winter though. They do a better job of plowing 268.

I kind of like going up there in the summer.

I didn,t mind once I got to Karns. It was nice and cool and everyone was pretty nice. I got to do some laundry and the loading at Penreco was simple. I came back down 268_68_422_79_70 to head for St Louis. I just eased out of there.
