The new year found me in Wilcox Az on my way out to San Bernardino Ca. Took 1.5 hours to air off my load of snot even though the temp of it was 40F. They are heading me back up north to Sacramento to load for either Chicago or Browns Summit. I plan to run I-40 either way. There were not enough chains to be had when I left and my TM told me he would rather we run south anyway in the winter. Said just to put a via in the computer and that he would pay me the out of route miles. I won't complain about another 250 miles on a trip to Chicago. Its a better use of my driving time. Hard to make any money driving 45 mph in the snow.
2012 was a good year for me. Wishing all my trucker friends a good 2013 as well.

Hello Rob,
Ever run up through MD? Ever run out or through Baltimore Terminal? -
Yeah I have been there a few times over the years. Did a reset at the company hotel there once and got a load to Salt Lake City. Not real crazy about that Dana tank wash though.
-
I know about that tank wash at Dana, I should be starting with Superior next week or week after next out of Baltimore. I've followed some your posts, your positive feedback about the company is a big factor in decision. It's not to often you hear a lot of positive things on these boards.
-
Well I hope only the best for you. I am happy here but that is just me. Superior has its warts, but I have been here 5 years and so far and its been pretty good. Just communicate.

Wsyrob, I finally finished school and finished at the top. I am about to go to work on my hazmat and tanker endorsements. I have already contacted the terminal manager here in Memphis and he encouraged me to get an app in. I have probably asked before, but do you know much about the Memphis terminal? I was kinda interested in what lanes or customers they service the most. I hope to get the ball rolling soon with these guys!

I usually wind up with a load back to Greensboro. Never had to sit too long for a reload. I have seen them so busy dispatch is having a hard time covering all the loads. It would probably be a good move right out of school.

I wound up with the Brown Summit load out of Sacramento on Friday. Timing was such that it didn't make sense to reset so I have been running rollover hours this week across I-40. Load delivers Friday but I will drop it at the terminal for steaming Wednesday. Looking forward to a little home time. -
Wsyrob, are you required to wear company uniform? Any other lil policies or anything I should be aware of I may be unaware of? What about tobacco use?
-
They give me 5 free shirts per year and $75.00 to buy pants. You have several styles to choose from. I get polo style short sleeves with a pocket. I generally wear the company shirt whenever I am in the truck and always at a customer. I wear jeans most of the time unless the product will mess them up. Then I wear Dickie style pants like mechanics wear. They hold up better to grease and dirt getting on them. If its a long run and you will not be going to a customer for a few days its OK to wear normal clothes. Smoking is OK.hamboner Thanks this.
