Sounds good. Have fun at the dog and pony show with Jack and Robert this week. They really do a good job. Just don't be late for class.

    3/14-3/17

Made it back to the Pasadena terminal in 3 days, one day early. Ran 650, 625 and 630 miles to get there Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised with US 95. It was 2 lane all the way to about 40 miles north of Las Vegas but much of it has been recently paved and is in much better shape than either I-80 or I-40. Every little town slowed you down to 25 mph but empty that was no problem. Speed limit was 70 between towns.

I saw some drone aircraft flying around at the base just north of Vegas. I couldn't see much of the Hoover Dam from US93 but it was still nice scenery up through there.

Friday I ran to Amarillo TX and caught the Limo over to the Big Texan for a ribeye. Saturday I ran down 287 to Fort Worth, picked up I-45 and got to the terminal around 19:00 with plenty of time to get a restart in.

They are loading me at noon right up the road with oil additives heading to McKees Rocks Pa delivering at 5 AM Thursday. The Nevil Island tankwash is only a few miles away so I may try for an early delivery on Wednesday depending on how the loading goes.

Only got to spend one night in the hotel for this restart. They were booked last night and I just showed up rather than calling for a reservation. I just reserved a room for tonight(Sunday), headed back to the terminal and did 3 loads of laundry. I checked in at 11:00 this morning. Had to hassle the desk girl a little to get a room without waiting until 3PM. I told her I had seen lots of people leaving and that I would wait right there for them to clean a room for me. Miraculously she found a clean room in the computer.

Later I called the desk to get the internet password. Let the phone ring 12-15 times to no answer, left it ringing, walked right out of my room to the desk and there she was sitting in the office texting on her cell phone ignoring the switchboard. You just can't get good help these days.

I really like the trip on 95 from Vegas to Reno. I've been doing a trip or 2 every week with double tanks for the last few months. It's sooooo much better then the Vegas/LA runs I did for the last 4 yrs!

I would like that too, but only with a truck that has some pulling power. Had I been loaded some of those hills would have been pulled at 30-40MPH with this Maxforce. I almost got run over a couple of times empty at 65.

Yep. I get down to 25 on the big pulls. The maxxforce I have now pulls much much better than my last one. Rear end gears and Trans. Make or break this little engine.

It took about 5 hours to get loaded so I decided against trying to deliver early. Ran 317 to Hammond La Monday, 506 to Columbia, Tn Tuesday and 559 to Washington Pa today. That leaves me 45 miles from the plant and close enough to make it home with a reasonable delivery time, should they decide to do that with me. I am good either way but some home time sure would be nice.

Pain in the butt delivery. Tight blindside to position the truck on the side in front of other trucks who had an actual rack. Because I couldn't block the road I had to use 3 hoses to reach the pipe. Took about 3 hours to get it off. I still didn't have a tankwash but thought I might get sent over to Express on Nevil Island. As soon as I got backed into a hole over there and reached for my phone I got a tankwash message for High Point. Getting a little home time, hopefully until Monday.

I always enjoy it when I get a t/w for home. It's such a relaxing drive when you come home empty.

Thats true unless you get held up unloading over 3 hours and don't have time to stop because of the 14 hour clock. It is a good feeling heading towards the house empty.

    3/25-3/26

Had a load sitting on the yard heading to Indianapolis for Monday. I looked at the weather report and decided to run about 100 miles out of route to avoid the Winter storm warnings for pretty much the entire state of Ohio. I also didn't feel like sitting in the backup on 77 north caused by that rock slide. I had dispatch put a via in the computer for Knoxville and ran 75 to 64 to 65 and headed into Indy from the south. I heard on sirius radio this morning that there were 2 jackknifed trucks on 70 at about the 126 in Indiana this morning so that validated my decision. I usually stop at the Loves at the 148 when I do this load. It snowed the whole trip but the temps never got below 33F so the roads were fine.

Getting unloaded now. They drum this product into totes and ship it to China to recover the chemicals that are valuable. Its a waste product from another company. Takes about 3 hours. Probably head to Cincinnati from here.
