I had a good week. Left early Sunday morning with an empty dry bulk tank and ran it 580 miles or so to just north of Indianapolis on I-65. Had to be there at 5 AM so I left around 01:30 and got to N Chicago about 15 minutes early. They must be doing some work to the loading bay because they had me drop the empty off to the side outside the garage.

I had to wait about 3 hours for them to finish loading the tank. They were having issues that day and at one point had a fire alarm and evacuated the plant. I got to stand outside the gate with the rest of the workers. Fortunately they got it resolved before the big thunderstorm I kept showing them on my phone got there. Naturally I got rolling about 08:30 just in time for the Chicago rush hour. My 14 was counting down so I didn't stop for breakfast like I had planned.

I was glad I didn't when I found myself in a 12 mile back up caused by this wreck:

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...17192-two-killed-after-semi-trucks-crash.html

They had it pretty much cleaned up by the time I got there. I was shocked and saddened to read 2 drivers were killed on here later. I didn't make it as far as I wanted but was still close enough to get home without a 3rd night out on this run.

I slept in until 04:30 the next morning and headed for the house. Its amazing how rested you can feel getting up at 4:30 in the morning when the last 2 days you were up before 3:00. I got the load delivered and was home by around 4:30 PM Tuesday.

Wednesday they had me do another out and back dedicated. This one loads Caustic in Mcintosh Al and runs back up to Browns Summit. I have never done this one before. Its first come first serve loading and the delivery has no appointment other than before 14:00. That precluded trying to deliver Thursday so I took my time. I delivered it about 10:30 AM this morning and was home by 13:00. I am off until Monday.

I just found out I drew the short straw on dispatch and have a snot load going to Long Island NY for Monday. Hopefully its the one I have done before. The waste water plant is in a city park. There is a gate at the back and you can park there if you need to. Its always nice to have a parking option on Long Island if you need it.

I didn't get the load until after noon on Monday. Headed up I95 and since it was later decided to stop at the PiedrIcktown terminal for the night.

That worked well. The place was deserted and quieter than a truck stop. Took exactly 10 and headed out about 8:15.

It was a surprisingly easy trip across the GW bridge. Minimal delay for that time of day

. As I was about to get onto 495 I got my next dispatch. They wanted me to drop my empty in Keasby hook a clean tank and load 20 miles away at 16:00. Looking at traffic on the other side of the road I didn't think I could make it. I called dispatch when I got to the plant. He told me not to worry about it, that I could be late.

My unload went well. Got it off in 2.5 hours and headed back about 13:45. I didn't get to the tank wash until 17:00 due to a 2 hour back up.

I spent 45 minutes at the tank wash because no clean out slip was on the tank. I noticed express seals on the caps and went in to find it was A Kosher wash.

I finally made it to the plant at 18:00 They then proceeded to chew me out for being late, saying I was supposed to be there at 13:00 and that my being late was stopping production. The good thing was they backed me right in ahead of several other trucks. I was out of there in an hour or so with a whopping 3200 lbs of perfume going to St Louis delivering Fri 7/5.

I delivered that load this morning and am heading up to Markham as soon as I get a trailer tire replaced.

They are loading me out of Janesville Wi Sat afternoon with a load to Charleston SC delivering Mon. That will pretty much finish up my70

Here is the tire I am fixing for the next guy

Sat and Sunday I ran down to the Loves at the 413 on I-40 in Tenn and stopped Sunday evening. The 4 wheelers were just crazy and I didn't want to deal with all the traffic comming out of the Smokies through the gorge. There wasn't any point in pushing it since I am bumping my 70 and couldn't leave Charleston before Monday at midnight anyway. My unload ended up being a drop at the plant and I got to the terminal around 15:30.

I am now waiting at the terminal to load at 14:30 at the same plant I dropped at yesterday. This load is going Up near Cleveland and delivers Thursday morning.

I am going to pull it to the High Point Yard this afternoon and go home for the night. My wife had her first radiation treatment yesterday and I want to check in with her. I will still have plenty of time to run the 500 miles up there Wed and stage for a Thursday delivery. I have asked to be off Friday so more than likely I will deadhead home after delivery Thursday.

It took a little longer to get loaded in Charleston than I anticipated on Tuesday so I decided not to run by the house. They put me out in rush hour traffic. I decided not to fight it and stopped around Rock Hill SC. Got up early enough to beat the rush hour through Charlotte on Wednesday and stopped at the TA in Canton Ohio I-77 exit 111. That place is a cluster and I was glad to be there early enough to get parking. My unload went off in 2 hours and I got home around 6PM Thursday.

My wife is doing OK but in addition to her radiation treatments she is dealing with her dad possibly needing to go into Hospice care. They are going to run me dedicated for the next few weeks so I should be home every few days for a while. I am leaving Early Sunday morning with an empty tank to load up in N Chicago at 6 AM on Monday. I will get home by 3PM on Tuesday after dropping it in Browns Summit NC.

    Right now its grill time:

    Fatties

You roll out the meat flat, layer onions, peppers, cheese and tomatoes between layers, roll them together in a bacon weave and grill. The small one is hamburger, chorizo and regular breakfast sausage. The big one is all of the above with another layer of bratwurst.

Those things look amazing. I am currently sitting in a steakhouse in Montana. First time up here so I figured I'd try it out. Ordered the ribeye, I am hoping it will be delicious.

I had an uneventful run up to N Chicago and back. Headed out about 5 AM Sunday morning and got back to the yard around 15:00 Tuesday. Got another one for the end of the week. I head out Wednesday and will be home by 15:00 Friday. Pretty easy way to run 3100 miles and only sleep in the truck 4 nights.
