10/7-10/12

Had a nice ride out to Iowa City and back this week. Weather was great once I got out of NC. Pretty much clear skies and 47-70F temps throughout my trip. This load is cake. Its around 1900 miles round trip and its the first trip on the new pay rate (.40Mt, .47 Loaded). I left Monday and got home Thursday around 13:00. It should have been earlier but the made me sit at the gate for 2 hours before dropping my trailer at Brown Summit. I am off until Sunday morning when I head out for a drop swap dry bulk load to N Chicago and back.

Hopefully they will run me on another one this week. I am about $1000 behind last year at this point and had a very good 4th quarter in 2012. I don't expect to equal last year with the need for more home time but would still like to top 60K for the year. This dedicated will probably not do that for me If I can't get some double load weeks. I am lovint the home time though.

 

I was about to say I'm sorry you have to go to Chuck-E-Cheese but it sounds like you like the place.

 

10/13-10/15

Shaping up to be a decent week. Headed out Sunday mid morning. Made my drop and swap in N Chicago in record time and got home around 6PM Tuesday. Off today and have a Plaquemine La out and back for Thurs, Fri, Saturday. If all goes as planned that should have me off Sunday for the Panther game.

 

We tend to slow down from right before Thanksgiving through Jan. It depends on the product though.

 

Got back Saturday and had a beautiful day at the stadium with my wife. This week i did another Plaquemine getting home this afternoon. Leaving for a 3 day weekend at the beach in the morning.
