I don't remember when I went inside. I was focused on the sleeper. I will check that out next time I see one. Wish I had taken a pic of the dash from the sleeper

My dad's terminal just got one too. He said it was an automatic. Did they drop a Paccar or a Cummins into it?

I like the door on the sleeper. Not that I worry about it, but I have always wondered how I would get out if I woke up and the truck was on fire.

Peaked in the window of a Pete this morning before heading to N Chicago. The ones we have are automatics too.

Shop said one of the trainers is getting one of them. Seems like we would want to train guys on standard transmissions.

Hmmm...not sure how I feel about automatics. Does not seem like that would work very well with tankers. But what do I know...

The older ones were supposedly awful with tanks, but everyone who I've talked to that has driven one since the kinks got worked out though absolutely loves them. I do tend to agree about training guys in an automatic, especially entry level guys. I know if I trained in an automatic then went into a manual, I'd have been lost.

I thought the surge will kill a transmission in a automatic?

I drove one of our new volvos with the ishift for a few trips and it worked well with a smooth bore tanker. Can't tell you how many times I reached for the shifter and clutch!

Yup. From what I gather in the earlier models, the slosh would cause the transmission to shift when it shouldn't have, which tore them up in fairly short order. I have 0 experience driving one then or now though, so what little I know I heard from drivers when I was washing trailers.
