I run out of North Charleston SC and go to Pasadena TX about 6 times a year. Often they will dispatch me to Sulphur LA for a preload. Our terminal has an openning for an experienced driver. We have a couple of older drivers retiring this year.

So, I was off for the past 3 days because i needed to get some stuff done around the house. Called dispatch this morning to check in and to see if they had a load for me tomorrow. Dispatch informed me they had to let another driver use my truck and they did not know when it would be back. I'm pretty pissed off right now. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I understand its their truck, and they can do what they want with it, but I think its pretty crappy that another driver is using my truck because his is broke and now I have nothing to drive.

It happens. From my experience, if someone uses your truck, they do their best to have them back before you have to go out.

I have had to use other guys trucks when mine was getting fixed a few times. It tends to even out. I was thankful for the opportunity to make some money that week. No layover pay at the home terminal. -
So how do yall get all your stuff if someone takes your truck
