Superior was suppose to tear down the terminal in Saint Gabriel La and rebuild a brand new terminal on the same site, but with the impending sale I wonder if those plans are on hold

That would be a good question for those property value assessors that were looking at Superior's sites! ;)

Yea a whole lot to unpack here
Watkins Shepard was before my time in the industry I guess but they still have 1 or 2 trucks that I see just about everytime I’m in Gary

Schneider hasn’t had problem getting driv- ok steering wheel holders... the problem they have is with keeping them-My class graduated 13 in November 18 and There’s only 3 of us left. One said he made the mistake of going o/o through them. (I’m not sure his circumstances but said he was trying to find a way out once we got to that year mark.) And the other is leaving the company next week. I have about 60 days left til I hit a full year / out of my 1 year with Schneider ( they paid for my training) and I’m not paying them the 1k+ just to get out early. But man superior and highway was on that list so it’ll be interesting where the chips may fall.
If they merge it’s more than just tank washes.
How will they run the drivers. Schneider sends you out till next hometime while from what I hear superior drivers get home multiple x’s a week. How’s overlay and detention work cause 65 ain’t nothing to sit a driver.
Training/ Will it be Schneider’s process? And they still graduate a class per week? Will everything be through Green Bay and take ages like mentioned before? Will they run freights or Mack’s.? It doesn’t really make sense for superior imo. But who knows

Well getting drivers and not keeping them is the same as not getting drivers at all, keep them a couple months, they quit and you spend more money to replace them, might as well not be getting drivers at all

I just can’t see Superior joining with Schneider, Schneider is a cheapskate company compared to Superior driver that used to work their who now works for us(Highway) said they weren’t making any money

It depends on hold long the driver stays, I don’t know the way it was explained to me was it was just a big write off and I’m sure after 2 months of work they’re turning a profit long as drivers don’t trash the truck considering what they’re paying me for the loads. I was doing about 3 loads a week at the low end of the pay scale... I think that the bet is that they can keep drivers for x amount of time and it still turns a profit. I know they’ve made large lump sums off of me compared to what I made/cost them. + I’ve only been here 10 mos imagine how much they’ve made off of drivers that’s been with the company for years. They have to be affording all these 2019 trucks somehow even with the turnover

I’ve been in trucking 23+ years, and I’ve seen some strange things happen in this industry. They say politics make strange bedfellows, well sometimes trucking does as well

That's starting to change. GLS lost almost all the OO a couple weeks back. (They took away the fsc and implemented their fuel stabilization program) QC can't leave anything alone for very long.
