Carry Transit appears to be the food grade / non-hazmat division of Superior. They appear to have a different hiring and service area though so you'll to see if it's a match for you?

everybody pointed you in the right direction! If you do 'Food Grade' Carry Transit is the food grade 'division' of Superior. Also, just note, Superior does NOT haul gasoline at all! We do haul Hazmat and some 'additives' for gasoline....or I have, from time to time....it's nothing to be scared of....well, it does take confidence and cautious driving skills.VIDEODROME, Speed_Drums, MYSTYKRACER and 1 other person Thank this.

Hey guys haven't posted in a while...been out here making money. I'm bunking somewhere in the middle of NY and it's a bit chilly this morning, about 43°. Things have been going well. Had a few breakdowns the past few weeks but nothing major - a trailer electric problem and a no headlight problem, both about 3 hr fixes. I've been running a lot of our dedicated loads. I like this NY run...but it's 700 miles back to the terminal, and at 65 mph governed, you come up short. I feel like if you're 20 minutes from home time and a reset, you should be able to drive over without penalty...but them the rules :/
Anyways, I just looked at my weekly paycheck. I'm at 55k for the year at week 37, (8 months solo, first 3 weeks still in training). Average that over a year and I'm on pace for 77k. MY FIRST YEAR DRIVING. whatwhat?!?! Needless to say I'm quite happy out here. I did cry the other day lol. I am a girl, after all, and I was on my 2nd 14hr day having my 2nd mechanical breakdown in 2 days and I was just tired. But the next day I got this run to NY and it's easy peasy and good miles and forgot all about the past.
To sum it up so far, I have an awesome dispatcher and our work is dedicated, mostly regional stuff so I'm home every other night (sometimes local, occasionally out 2 nights). 99% of the time it's awesome. However, delays always suck and every now and then the odd customer actually expects me to work and get dirty, but mostly I'm just holding a steering wheel, listening to podcasts, and cashing checks ✌VIDEODROME, MYSTYKRACER, Vic Firth and 6 others Thank this. -
Good info Patsy, Superior is still on my list for when I relocate in a few months

good to hear things are going good. I just got out of the dealership myself. Could you believe, they had parts just down the road, yet when they got them Friday, they had to wait until Monday to install them, since they are closed ALL weekend? Got paid for it....but got pretty boring in the hotel room. hahapatsy Thanks this.

Great to hear you're doing well and still liking it at Superior. I finally started CDL school this week and Superior is at the top of my list of companies for when I finish in December? I don't suppose you've been through the Pasadena, TX terminal?
A couple of questions:
1. Since Superior pays a different rate for loaded vs unloaded hauls, what's the general ratio of each your find yourself working?
2. Have you heard anything about the story floating around that Superior may be up for sale and possibly being bought by Schneider?

1) loaded is 0.56CPM empty is 0.45CPM.
2) By now, every terminal has heard the news...well everyone that I've been to. Although, now I don't run into 1 driver mentioning it like I did when it first was reported. I've heard a few rumors about it, but I'm not going to say, some are funny, some are ooooookay?, and all I say is, I'll just wait and see what happens. I know of one tank washer that quit because of the rumor(that's what he told me), I kind of laughed at him and said, don't leave until it is a FACT. He swore up and down what he heard was, but he had no solid EVIDENCE! A tank washer OR driver is NOT going to know anything FOR FACT that is going on in a boardroom!
