Has anyone attempted using the DM-5000?
If so, what do you think of it, worth the coin?
Also, the recorded noise "feature", are you able to employ that as a roger beep or is it something which keys up separately?
I can see the later being useful in eliminating overpowering beeps which you hear on both ends of radios such as the dx55hp.
While I enjoy having a mild tone to confirm end of transmission on channels which may be "loud" for lower end radios lacking an RF dial, the "BA-DEEP" emitted from the Galaxy cooks my brain in short order.
It isn't as loud doing rx tests on other units, but as the tx, ouch.
Superstar DM-5000, thoughts?

I don't have any experience with this mic, but the first impression is that I don't like the looks of it. The side buttons or switches could be a problem, I would probably hit one of them while driving down the road and change some setting. The 20 second recording is a novel idea, but not sure how practical it would be in a mobile environment.
GGALLIN1776 Thanks this. -
