hey--just an idea---why dont you tear down your house and build a truckstop--or at least a parking lot ?
maybe you can charge for parking as well---you should take the problem up with jewel and not somebody just trying to do their job

I got a better idea fer ya...
Why not thank the trucker that is out there? We are away from home, our own nice comfy beds so YOU can go to Jewel and shop. Maybe say "Mr/Mrs truck driver.. I don't want to sound mean, but could you please shut your engine off?" Better yet, why don't YOU ask them into your nice cozy home?
You wont do that i am sure.. I mean US truckers are just in the dang way, right? Call the police on me, and i will tell them to call Jewel and tell them about re-scheduling my appt for when YOUR ready..
Yeesh.Polky55 Thanks this. -
And so don't cry and whine that your local grocery store is out of food, because it people like you who make our job, bringing your food to the Dist centers, even tougher -
Armitage... you need to follow the proper channels. Form a concerned citizens group and approach your city council. Power comes from numbers, so the more citizens the better. The council will approach Jewel and hopefully work out a solution.
The drivers are only doing their jobs. Jewel requires them to follow certain procedures, so only Jewel can make this situation better.
Also keep in mind if truckers didn't exist... modern society would be thrown back into the stone age. -
What was there first?
Your house or Jewel?
Was Jewel there when you moved there?
You are probably one of the people that complain about the airport as well. -
don't like the hustle and bustle of big city traffic? that includes bus traffic, dump truck traffic, concrete mixers, etc. dont like it, then i'd suggest moving into the country. -
Jewel doesn't want you parking on their lot. But I did tell security I was out of hours and needed some place close to shut down. Security escorted me to a back parking lot and told me to shut down there. So it is possible to park on their lot. Two other trucks were there with me and the ones that don't know how to speak up were parked on the street.
The problem is not the customers. It's not their responsibility to house you. It's these local governments that want truck drivers in and out. They don't understand the time restrictions put on us. They complain and punish you if you park in their communities and they complain and punish you if you wreck trying to get out. Every community should be required to provide adequate parking.
To the complainer, try pushing for legislation to provide us truck drivers adequate parking. Or for a short term resolution, try parking your vehicle where the trucks park. Or put orange cones out there. Better yet, move to the country where these problems don't exist. -
Or did he move there after they went there? -
