It's set on automatic. When it randomly reboots and causes the screen to darken, it seems to me that it's darker than the night mode. I don't have any problems with the brightness other than when this happens. Also, route calculation is very slow.

I'ts set at 10 min. This is how they come out of the box, haven't tried setting at a different time offset.

Can she take a screen shot of the brightness settings? It should show day and night mode.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Will ask, she is on a trip right now and prob wouldn't know how to get those screen shots to you, she did say that when she tried to turn brightness down the other day that it wouldn't turn down, didn't say yesterday if she still having issues.
I will tell her to adjust offset to 15min. and see if it does any better.
Just talking to her now and she is also getting the Navi.exe error at least once a day.
Daytime brightness set to 3rd square. Nightime at 2nd square.

Yes I did Mark. I called RM about 3 weeks ago and the lady on thephone told me not to run a D/R every time I try to update unit as this will cause the files to get corrupted. So today I got in touch with them again. The tech said that wasn't the case at all. so he went in remotely turned off my fire walls and hopefully fixed it. he did say files were corrupted. so as soon as I get back on the road again ill try it out. ok I just tried to turn it on and it froze, and had snow on the screen. I just wanted to let you know it gives the wrong exit for loves #231 in Hillsboro tx. it should be 368b. it routes you down a back road and back around to the back side. but that route has a 90 degree turn on it. not safe. so ill call RM back and just send it in. thanks Mark

Mark, there is a spot in Norcross, GA where the TND-720 tries to take Hubby around the world to get from one place to another, instead of the shortest and easiest route. He just went from 1300 Oakbrook Drive in Norcross to 5854 Goshen Springs Road. Even when he was already on Center Way and had crossed I-85, the 720 still wanted him to turn right onto Brook Hollow Pkwy., then right onto Indian Trail, then I-85 south, then exit 99 to Jimmy Carter Blvd. and turn right, then right again onto Brook Hollow, then right onto Center Way, and right onto Goshen Springs Road, instead of simply turning left onto Goshen Springs Road from Center Way. It appears that the 720 believes there is a median there that Hubby couldn't cross to turn left onto Goshen Springs Road from Center Way. There is no median there. The 720 doesn't mention any restrictions, and its maps are up-to-date unless a new map update that I don't know about has been released in the last month or two. Please check this when you get a minute. Thanks so much for all you do on here!

On my 730 I find that when I add POIs to current trip the distance varies greatly from that shown when i pulled up the list.

It gets pretty annoying as when planning my next stop based on my time available.

Is there a setting or option that I missed that shows distance to the POIs as they actually are in relation to my route?.

The same issue appeared on a tablet that i used for a bit so i dont think i have a faulty unit.

When you look for a POI the unit tells you the distance as the crow flies. The only way to get the actual mileage is to add it to your route. They have always been this way so depending on how your route goes as to where the POI is, the difference can be substantial or not to great if the POI is directly ahead of you in the direction your travelling.

Mark, LOL, I thought something was different. I could swear my unit is acting squirrely too Re: the switch from night screen to day. How do I verify and fix it? B.T.W. I have a 720.
