i've tried that but it still wants to recalculate when going from powered off to powered on! It would be so nice if you could simply lock in the route from start to finish and never having to deal with the recalculation be it manual or automatic. A recalculate button would be a nice accessory! Then you could recalculate if you wanted to or not at any time.

Yes it will recalc from turning it off/on again. I would suggest you build the route you want, then under Destinations/Multi-Stop Trips you will see a current Trip folder. Open that folder and in the bottom left you will see a "save as", click on this and save the trip under a name of your choice.

Current trip folder will drop stops off as you get to each one, but if you save the trip you can always have all the stops in a saved folder and start the trip from that folder. It will not drop any stops from the saved folder, only the Current Trip folder.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Mark, this 730 I purchased last month thru the trade in discount is beyond horrible. Every day it either freezes up or an exe.nav error and must be shut down. This is ridiculous, I run diagnosis and it repairs files but this is an everyday occurrence. Today I put the sob away and am using my Trusty 720. What do I do with this 730 lemon ? PM me for solution !

You should call rand mcnally immediately, you should have the second it started freezing up. Brand new unit should not have errors and freezing.

Or depending where you bought it exchanged it right away, however since you waited so long exchange is probably out of the question. But rand mcnally's warranty will cover you still.

I would suggest clearing out the Component Cache folder (hidden) on your computer. You may have gotten a bad download. These are the files the TND compares to when you do a R/D. Once you clear them out, the update button will be green. Update again and it will force new files from the server. Make sure you are on High Speed internet and not Wi-Fi.

A new version was just pushed to the Dock a few days ago.

If you are computer savvy I can give you the path to the Cache folder.

    Thanks,
    Mark
