That is fine, I do not disagree with it physically there. I cannot talk about it till RM announces it publically.

I guess I misunderstood on what unit the Class 10 micro sd card was to go in for map update. I have both the 730 and 720 BUT when I plugged the 720 in for update today it said I needed the 8G sd card to accommodate the map size. I only have one sd card and it is in the 730, So does the 730 NOT need the sd card ? If not I will just pull the switherooo ...

The 720 needs the Micro SD Card.
    Not the 730 (for now).

8gb or higher, class 10 (data speed) for the 720.

The 720 has 4gb internal and the 730 has 8gb internal.

The 730 does not need the SD Card.

Make sure you are on a high speed internet connection. Wi-Fi is not recommended. This will be about 4-5gb download so plan accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Mark

BTW - Word is now the Map updates for the 520/720 are now live.

Note - do the map update first then do the version update.

Make sure you are on a high speed internet connection. Wi-Fi is not recommended. This will be about 4-5gb download so plan accordingly.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Didn't mean anything with it.
I don't think anybody (including Rand) expected us to need an Micro SD Card for a future update with the 720 either.

Either way I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
I bought a 16gig Kingston Micro SD Card Class 10 from Amazon for $8.69 (plus S&H)

Really just glad it's out (the update).

The Map Update showed to be 426xmb.
The other update was like 1 mb.
Stopped to take a Shower and for my '30'.
Got plenty of time on this load.
The Map Update downloaded in about 2 hours.

Using my Phone as a Hotspot on VZW (Unlimited).

Not really, most GPS devices (not only RM) have to go to an external SD card with this set of maps.

    Thanks,
    Mark

the only update for mine was a construction update, with no mention of installing the sd card.

gps says my maps are over a year old.
dock says I have the latest maps.
    software version 3.56.2922.1315
    dock version 1.0.5506.16634
    gps serial # 520-022162-EL-13W26
    OS version A5.RM.2T520.130301.0
    map data version 3120212
    construction data version 01/01/1601
    rmlayer version 2.1.4.0

    any ideas?
