Leave the unit alone for about 24 hours. This will run the battery down and then try to charge for about an hour, then try to power it back up.

YOU must charge the TND for about 3 hours before the first use. This enables all the electronic's to be working and the TND ready to use. If the battery is low and you power it up, you can get weird things happening, since the DC is trying to charge the battery and run the unit at the same time. The battery has to have a certain charge on it before the TND can be operated.

    thanks,
    Mark

I had similar problem until I got a new cigarette lighter power supply. Try charging with the ac power supply or if you have a laptop use the usb cable and charge it up that way to see if it is the cigarette lighter adapter.

If you bought it at a truck stop, and it hasnt been long, take it back and do an exchange. I exchanged mine at Loves, exchanged the 700 for a 710 with no problems.

The Laptop does not provide enough charging current for the 7x0's series. AC or DC is preferred.

When you take a shower, plug it into the AC source.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Verify you have a good charge on the battery first.

    thanks,

Mark, not sure if the routing issues are wide spread or if it's just my 500 but it constantly tries to route me longer and slower routes. I have been hoping a new map update would fix this issue, any idea when the map update will be available.

Hey Mark, it's been about 3 to 4 weeks since I last asked. Was wondering if you yet have found out the answer to my question from page 158 and page 159 of this thread. I posted them below in case you need to read again as a reminder. I did notice in one of them that I accidentally put an extra "e" in the town name Henryetta, whoops. But Henryetta is the correct spelling. Thanks again. :biggrin_25515:

I have a tnd 700. I'm in phoenix AZ(2200 s 75th ave) I'm going to Las Vegas. When it calculates route, for some reason it routes me I 10w into California then over to vegas.(345 miles) ive tried shortest and fastest route and same results. The best route from here is I 10EAST, to 101n,to 60w to 95 north. This route is only 262 miles. A driver in truck next to mine has a garmin and it routes him this way. What's the deal? How can I manually change route to go the way I want to go. Almost 100 miles shorter.. ????

    Mark Kling Thanks this.
