True. But isn't that the purpose of having high-priced "trucker" GPS in a first place??? If I need to check and re-check every route my GPS plans for me, I can get much cheaper 4wheeler unit.
I'll list the features the unit is called "trucker's" GPS for:
1. Truck specific routing - fails. Have to check it manually anyway
2. Time tracking - nice but I don't need it. I'd be a bad truck driver if I didn't know how much time I have available at any given time of the day. Besides... it's kinda cumbersome to use. I'm keeping forgeting to leave it at "driving" after I stop (for whatever reason). It should have some kind of "change of conditions" detection, where after I stopped for over, say, 6 minutes would popup a question wherher I want to switch it to different state.
3. Miles driven in each state tracking - I don't need it at all. But I can see it can be useful for others.
4. Trucker specific POI - excells. This unit has better POI database than any I've ever used.
Pop-up screens showing me the exit (lane assist??) were cute for a while but now, most of the time they are annoyance I need to click off.
Don't get me wrong. I like the idea and sometimes it can be a lifesaver.
BUT it should be eighter:
a) Smaller, so it won't cover the whole screen with a picture of an exit
or
b) By tapping the upper left corner (where the next turn is shown) it would bring up this popup so I can check it way ahead so when I approach the exit, I'll be still able to see on the map how it looks like and what I need to do next.

I bought the TND 700 a few days ago, and so far I love it. Dispatch called me with a hot pickup in Chesapeake, VA when I was sitting in Onely, VA...had it not been for TND I'd have never made it on time. As it was, the unit took me right to the front door of the shipper with 10 minutes to spare, and kept me from sitting all weekend.
Couple of things I noticed...speeds were off on I-68
In Ohio the unit was still showing 55 for truck speed, and the map wasn't showing truck POI icons for truckstops, rest areas etc. Once I moved off I-70 onto I-71 the speed issue was corrected... -
Seems like lots of drivers have the TND700 but I cant seem to find one for sale anywhere!. I wish the forum supporters sold this item. If any of the forum supporter's get the 700 please let me know and I will arrange fast payment! THANKS

Why not order from Rand?
That is where I got my 500 when they first came out, and they have a 30 day no questions asked return policy, or was it 60 days...cannot remember. -
Thanks,

Go to amazon.com. Seriously!! I had to back order mine & just got an email stating that they were preparing to ship mine today. So I'm guessing here that they now have them in stock, so you better get there F A S T !! -

If you have a Mac, be sure to E-Mail me so I can get you version 1573. I need your serial number off the back of the TND and a mailing address. No P.O. boxes. Shipped FedEx.
Or I can update you via the internet. You would need at least a 1 GB SD Card or Micro SD Card (if a T7C).
file size is less than 100mb.
Thanks,
