Mark Kling Thanks this.

We are looking at letting the driver enter a mileage also to do a search on...
thanks,
Mark -
No, no red dot. Ok, what I'm trying to do is search for a (insert store here) with Along Route. If you click shopping, there is no text search to look for a specific store name. It pulls up ALL the stores along the route. And, wow, it is incredible how much is in that POI database.
I guess I'm not explaining this right...

Thanks,
Mark -
I was about 20 miles from Rock Springs, WY heading East on 80. It was close to my break time so I figured I would stop at Walmart and stock up. Hit "Quick Stop" then Walmart and nothing.
Get out my Blackberry and bring up Walmart.com and type in Rock Springs. Bingo. Call them up and yes they are a Super Store and open 24/7.
So now I'm sitting in the Walmart parking lot and hit quick stop again. NOTHING!!
Tried to take a picture of my GPS saying that and the Walmart sign in the background but not enough light.
The Flying J that I spent the night in last night also did not exist.
I mean, REALLY, this is GPS 101. Every Walmart, Flying J, T/A, Blue Beacon, Petro and everyone else supplies GPS coordinates in coma separated format. I would think this would have been one of the most basic subroutines for a junior engineer to write. -
All POI's are entered in a DB. I did a search on the above location and found the WalMart.
Can you find any POI? If you do a search on any truck stop or POI do you get anything back in the search?
I understand your fustration, but the clue was that it did not find the Flying J either. It sounds like you have a corrupted DB.
I would suggest for the first step to connect your TND to your computer, close the Dock, go to your start menu and click on (my) computer. Look for the external drive called IntelliRoute, double click on that drive. In the right side of the screen you should see a folder called RM. left click once on it and then right click and delete.
Start your TND Dock again and update.
Then try your searches and see if you bring back any POI's.
Thanks,
Mark -
Our Quick Search only looked for a certain spelling of WalMart. This has been corrected in the newer code.
You could have done, Choose destination\POI\My truck\more\all and then hit the spell button at the bottom.
When Rand gets the POI information from other companies we do not control how they have set up their spelling in their Databases. Rand does try to "work" around by putting the different spellings in the code.
Thanks,

Your way may work searching but that is not what I stated above.
You need to setup a test where you are 20 miles West of Rock Springs, WY on I80 heading East. Now do a Quick Stop on Walmart. That is different then doing what you said.
Also, the speed limit on all of I84 in Oregon for trucks is 55 and should be in orange. -
Quick Stops was looking for a certain spelling of WalMart.
Walmart in the Database submitted to us contains many different spellings.
What the human eye and brain can look for and search is different than a computer. The computer will only search on parameters. It does not know the difference between WalMart or Wal-mart in a database unless you add more coding to "make" it think.
Wal-Mart
WalMart
Wal_Mart
etc etc..
Since we do not make the DB submitted to us we have to take into account all the different ways the DB shows it. Quick Stops did not. It has been fixed already in the Beta Version.
So if Quick Stops is looking for WalMart and the way it is entered for that location you were looking for is Wal mart then it would have not found it. But, you have another means to look for it.
Speeds are corrected in the Mapping Database and when the next mapping Database is released then it should be corrected.
Thanks,
