Dude! YES I AM! My APU payment is only $280 per month and includes all maintenance and hotel costs if it needs to go in the shop. Once again, stop with the BS!

I’ve read my contract too. It’s not actually worded that way. They would have a very difficult time enforcing that in court. I was surprised that it was worded so poorly. You can easily get around it by starting your own authority and then signing the document agreeing to pay the payments for yourself. But even that’s not necessary as near as I can tell. That part of the contract is worded so poorly that it cannot be enforced in court. I checked and I couldn’t even find any caselaw where it’s even been challenged. But here’s the important thing. There is no point in going to another company. If you can’t make it work at Prime you can’t make it work anywhere. Prime has as good a system and as good a customer base that exists anywhere in the country. If you are of those guys who is always chasing greener pastures you are doomed to failure. My advice is just to stick with Prime until your truck is paid off. You’re not going to find a better deal anywhere else in the country I promise you. I’ve been in this industry a very long time and I’ve heard all the BS stories from all the trucking companies promising you the world. One is no better than the next. Prime is no fly-by-night operation. Just go to their Springfield terminal and look at all the photos of all the million mile drivers that are covering the walls. There’s so many of them that they’re running out of room. You don’t get a track record like that by screwing over your people. Just stick with Prime until your truck is paid off then if you really want to go somewhere else and gamble go for it.

Ok. I forgot you're the o/o for 20 years that didn't know what the National Association of Small Trucking Companies fuel card was and gave away $0.50 gallon for twenty years.

    $14K down?

I will also be one watching your adventures.

Let us know how great it is becoming a trainer.

    Ok. I'll stop.

How much is the insurance on that whole get up?

So it's like $4300 with apu.

I have never even heard of the national Association of small trucking companies. Maybe they need to work on their advertising.

I also did not give away $.50 per gallon for 20 years. Fuel prices and fuel surcharges change each year. This is such an overly simplified statement I have difficulty even describing it.

Yes to get into a brand new truck with Prime you have to put down $14,000. It weeds out the suckers and the players. From day one if you have $14,000 of your own money at risk you’re more likely to act like a professional and take care of business.

i’m not sure why you think I’m going to be a trainer. That thought never even crossed my mind. I have no desire to babysit some strange person I don’t even know and trust them not to wreck my truck. I do trucking because I get to work alone. That’s exactly the way I like it. I do not have the patience to be a teacher.

Excuse my ignorance if I missed this, or perhaps if it was never asked but how come you didnt lease the truck you own onto Prime instead of doing a lease purchase?

Two very good reasons. 1. My truck was an 09 and was too old for Prime. 2. I sold my old truck because it was 10 years old and it was time for a new truck.
