Each week Prime calculates fuel costs and ranks us from best to worst in each fleet. A fleet consists of approx 300 trucks in the reefer division. I was notified today I was #1 this week in my fleet in MPG. I paid 81 cents per gallon using Prime’s fuel system and recommended fuel stops. That was 9 cents per mile and $45 per 500 miles ran. I am running a brand new Pete 597 with the Paccar drivetrain.

Does prime set the max boost the turbo will make to like 25 lbs.....? Paccar said no way but Detroit allows them to do it.........

    Show us a statement.

Wait. Paccar motor? That thing won't make it to 300K.

I’m really interested in the fuel bonus. My Peterbilt with a S60, Paccar said I run too much boost, that’s why my fuel economy is 4.7

Paccar.......yes. Cummins said NO WAY and stopped doing business with Prime. All Petes come with Paccar now and Freightshakers come with DDs. Prime stopped ordering Navistar. Volvos no idea but there aren’t many of them in the Prime fleet.

Good guess. I set my cruise control at 55. My truck has 12 gears but I run in 11th. 55 isn’t fast enough to trip 12th gear. It takes discipline but I save a lot of fuel money each week. I get flipped off by other drivers passing me every day but the money is worth it.

Is It? Show us the proof that your fuel bonus is better than your mileage pay

I never said I had a fuel bonus. I’m an owner operator, not a company driver. I don’t get fuel bonuses, only fuel discounts.
